Second grade has been so busy and SO fun!! We have been diving into fractions this past week and boy do the kids LOVE FRACTIONS!!
We have been doing a ton of fraction stuff but I wanted to share how we wrapped it all up for one of our Open House projects! Thanks to the beautiful and very talented Amy Lemons! We did her Fraction Sundae craftivity!
Of course we started out discussing our favorite ice cream and what kind we would like to try! And they al-most talked me into having a field trip out to our local Nestle Tollhouse shop to "test out" some other flavors. If it were up to me OF COURSE we would!
I digress...
I digress...
I modeled what their Sundae should look like by talking about my favvvooorrrite flavors and the flavors I would want to try then I let them go nuts!! Here's what it looked like!
And here are a few final Fraction Sundaes!!
I can't wait to hang these up and show off our FRACTION KNOWLEDGE!!!!
We loved doing this little activity by turning our fraction knowledge into something we all love... ICE CREAM!
What do you think... an ice cream sundae party for all their hard work?
I know I'm kinda late on this but this is what our math stations looked like this month! Lots of review of place value, double digit addition, time, word problems, money and MORE!! So, if you need a few math station ideas, check it out!
Or just put it on your wishlist for next year! I promise to be on time with this next Februrary!
I think a little life got in the way. :)
